CRIME: POLICE NAB WOMAN FOR BUYING TWO MONTH-OLD BABY FOR #500,000

•Arrest Another For Kidnapping.

A 51-year-old woman, Rose Edward, is in police net for allegedly buying a 2-month-old baby for N450,000.

Mr Murtala Mani, Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, disclosed this on Saturday in Uyo, while briefing newsmen.

Mani who spoke through ASP Cordelia Nwanwe, the Akwa Ibom Police Command's spokesperson said that a homeopathic doctor, Eneyo Nyang, was arrested in connection with the crime.

Also the police in Ogun state have arrested one Odele Tosin for allegedly masterminding Friday's kidnap of a teenage girl.

Eniola Oyekanmi, 12, was kidnapped at the Ketu area of Lagos State and taken to a hotel in Mowe from where the kidnappers contacted her family to demand ransom.
Unfortunately for the gang, Anti-Robbery team from Mowe Division got information of their whereabouts, and rescue the girl.

Meanwhile, Family members and sympathisers on Saturday, gathered at the Ebebelibiri Cemetery, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to bury the remains of Master Innocent Kokorifa, a 17-year-old boy allegedly killed by the police, amidst tears.

Innocent, the first child of Mr. Daniel Kokorifa, an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), was gunned down in mysterious circumstances by the police along Airforce Road, Bayelsa state.
