The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi 'Ilufemiloye'
(Telu 1) has advocated for the use of local fabrics by the pilgrims
going to both Mecca and Jerusalem in the state of Osun.

The traditional monarch Oba Adewale Akanbi stated this when he
received the delegate of the ministry of culture and tourism, state of
Osun in his place today.
Oba Adewale Akanbi said it's very important to appreciate the beauty
of our culture, norms and traditions and one of the best way to
showcase this lofty culture is by patronising locally made products.

He stated, "I want to see our Osun pilgrims wearing Adire, Sanyan and
Ofi to Mecca and Jerusalem during the next pilgrimage. Let us show the
whites and the Arabs the beauty of our culture. No one can do it
better than ourselves" Oba Adewale stated.

Recently, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi
Ilufemiloye Telu I, Oluwo of IWO Land started a campaign to champion
promotion of Yoruba Culture as a means to create economic and
employment sustainability in South Western States of Nigeria and had
earlier pressed more on this during his coronation and presentation of
Staff of Office from H.E Gov Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola on the 16th of
January.
