Also, after winning La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid, followed by Euro 2016 with Portugal, Ronaldo remains the favourite to win the award this year, though Lionel Messi is aiming to win the prize for the sixth time.
The candidates for the Ballon d'Or have been released in blocks of five throughout Monday, with Messi and Mahrez inlcuded alongise Hugo Lloris, Luka Modric and Thomas Muller while Ibrahimovic was included in third set of Ballon d'Or candidates.
