The Students Representative Council(S.R.C) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has suspended the student Union president, Hon. Muhammad Surajudeen, the financial secretary popularly addressed as Adequate, the auditor popularly addressed as comrade Suga, while they impeached the vice president popularly addressed as Afobaje and the treasurer popularly addressed as Jay Boy over alleged unconstitutional withdrawal of #45,800.
This was made known to our correspondents in a memo released by the SRC.
The memo partly reads "the president and the financial secretary breached the union constitution by withdrawing #12,340 from the union pulse without the approval of the requisition letter written to the house by the financial secretary"
"The auditor was alleged of incompetency due to failure to notify the house for the unconstitutional withdrawal of #45,800 by the treasurer and #12,340 by the president and financial secretary "
"The vice president was alleged of making withdrawal of #25,800 and #20,000 along side with the treasurer from the union purse and unconstitutional disbursement of union fund for the repair of union bus and the collection of stolen mace"
"The house hereby suspend the student union president, financial secretary and the auditor and relief them of Constitution duties for 48 hours"
"The house hereby magnanimously impeach the vice President and treasurer out of the office and relief of their constitution duties"
However, the S.U.G President told our correspondents that he had sent a letter to notify the S.R.C on the withdrawal of the money but they failed to carry out their duties.
He added that the S.R.C was only playing politics by suspending him.
As at the time of filing this report, effort to reach the S.R.C Speaker, Hon.Olakunle Afeez prove abortive.
