Mamelodi Sundowns won a fairytale first CAF Champions League title on Sunday despite a 1-0 second-leg loss to Zamalek of Egypt in Alexandria as they won 3-1 on aggregate.
Success for Sundowns made them $1.5 million richer and secured a place at the Fifa Club World Cup in Japan during December.
The "Brazillians" as they are fondly called had won the first leg 3-0 in South Africa before going to Egypt where they lost by a goal margin but it wasn't enough to stop their victory.
Mamelodi Sundowns are now the second South African clubside that will win the prestigious cup from South Africa after Orlando Pirates who won it in 1997.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Egyptian side Zamalek has blamed sunday night CAF Champions League final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on 'magic and sorcery'
