A top figure now openly alleged to be the leader of shadowy “Kaduna Mafia,’’ Alhaji Daura, a veteran journalist and a successful industrialist , is like the president, from Katsina State, but he is more than that, an uncle who is some years younger.
He is not just an industrialist but a top journalist and editor of the now defunct New Nigerian newspaper where he served as the holding company’s managing director, when the newspaper used to determine the direction of events and state policies in the country. So you have a power broker who is also a media practitioner and manager.
He was briefly a member of the Oputa panel charged with investigating human right abuses in the country; he also served on the Dina committee in 1968 and the Aboyade technical committee in 1977.

7. Mr. Abba Kyari: The Chief of Staff
Abba Kyari was born in 1938. He is a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier.
He had his early Education at Borno Middle School and Barewa College, Zaria. He holds a Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Warwick in Law and Sociology.
It is worthy to note that during the outbreak of violence against the Igbos in Northern and Central Nigeria in 1966, Abba Kyari assisted Igbo soldiers in escaping from Kaduna, including Major Samuel Ogbemudia.
He has also worked with the New Nigeria Development Company, New Africa Holdings, African International Bank, United Bank for Africa, Unilever, and Mobil in various capacities over the years.
Abba Kyari, was appointed the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari on August 27, 2015.

8. Mr. Babachir Lawal: The SSG.
Babachir David Lawal was born 2 October 1954, is the current Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He was appointed on August 27, 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari. Engineer Lawal hails from kwambla village in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, north east of the country.
He graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1979 with a Bachelor of Electrical / Electronics Engineering Degree and worked with the Delta Steel Company, Aladja, Nigerian External Telecommunications Limited and Data Sciences Limited before establishing his own ICT and Telecommunications consulting firm in 1990.
He is also a member of the Nigeria Computer Society, the Nigeria Society of Engineers and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.
