WE ARE SET TO KICK START REVOLUTION IN IWOLAND ~~~ N-G-O

A non-profit making and non-governmental organisation, Humane Minds International has said its set to kick start revolution of ideas in the ancient city of Iwo, in order to inculcate the spirit of servant leadership in the minds of young folks in the community so as to forestall the dearth of government presence in the community due to lack of leadership structure that will fight for its right in time past.


While speaking with TOPUP9JA, the deputy director of the organisation Mr Akanji said "the development of Iwo Land is an issue that worries every patriotic son of the soil, and calls for a collective concern and a concerted effort and the chunk of the responsibility of developing the town has fallen on the shoulders of the elders in the past (and present), it is high time we charged the future of the town and leaders of tomorrow the youths to rise to the responsibility of moving Iwo town forward."

The organisation is now set to commence her revolution via staging a programme with the theme: "DEVELOPING IWO LAND: YOUTHS ON CALL" which is set to hold at the Wings School by 10:00am, on the 19th of November, 2016.

The programme is in four sections. In the first section, twelve invited secondary schools will debate the topic: "THE DEVELOPMENT of IWO LAND: WHOSE CONCERN" and "IDAGBASOKE ILE IWO: OJUSE E TAANI", both in English and Yoruba language, respectively.

The young folks will also told brief history of the ancient city by the author of "A Brief History of Iwo", Mr Adun Amoo.

Dr. Misbahudeen Adelasoye will discuss the topic, "THAT THE FUTURE MAY BE BRIGHTER: IWO YOUTHS ON CALL" while Prince Daud Abimbola, will intimate the attendees with past and present great men of the community.

The organisation stated that, kick starting a new revolution through the programme is about answering the clarion call made by Oluwo of Iwoland Oba Adewale Akanbi to move the town forward.

The programme is expected to charge the young minds to conceive great visions for the town.
