Arsenal have earmarked Bournemouth head coach Eddie Howe as a
successor to Arsene Wenger, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims Arsenal would have been happy to see Wenger take up
the England post this summer as they begin their search to replace the
Frenchman, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract.
Meanwhile Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is on the hunt for another
attacking option before the transfer window closes after admitting his
side lacks experienced forwards.
"At the moment I have not too many attacking options in terms of
experienced players," Wenger said. "So we have options but we will
still look outside to find one more" wenger said.
Also Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has admitted the team might
be unable to 'outgun' Europe's elite teams in the transfer market.
He said "We can't afford to outgun competitors that have far more
money to splurge on transfer fees than we do. So we have to be very
careful, very selective about how we do things."
