Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki
and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, today mourned the sudden death of the former
skipper and Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi.
While Saraki described as a “rude shock”
the news of the death of Keshi, Eweremadu expressed shock and sadness over the
death of the former Super Eagles coach.
Also erstwhile Super Eagles midfielder,
Mutiu Adepoju has describe Keshi as a mentor to many players and also said that
most of them were looking up to the departed Stephen Keshi as a role model in
the national team. “Before we joined the national team, we were all looking up
to him as captain. He was such a cool and calm person who never talked too much
while in the team.
He
was very firm and nice to all of us when we joined the team.’

Dr. Larry Izamoje is also among those who has paid tribute to deceased former
super Eagles coach and player Stephen Okechukwu Keshi who died at the early
hours of wednesday in Benin city Nigeria.
Dr. Larry Izamoje described Keshi 54 as a
big loss to Nigerian Football and one man with a big heart to say things as it
is without fear or favour.
The Nigerian football icon Stephen
Okechukwu Chinedu Keshi was scheduled to return to the United States on
Wednesday evening before he suffered cardiac arrest and die suddenly in the
early hours of Wednesday in Benin City, Edo state.
