The PDP reminded Aregbesola in a statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Prince Diran Odeyemi, that during his electioneering campaigns he promised job creation and not sack.

The party also alleged that a fresh list containing the names of 4,000 civil servants that will be laid off has been drawn and awaiting further directive before those concerned will be given their letters.

“Retrenchment or compulsory retirement may be a better option, when those in active service are being paid half salary which does not even come regularly” Odeyemi declared.
“However, sending as much as 2,250, 000 workers out service at their prime with the news coming out indicating that another 4,000 names have been compiled for further lay off will compound economic challenges the state is facing now.”
