Stop Trying To Sound Like Davido Because He Is Reigning Now – Zaaki Adzay

Veteran artiste, Zaaki Azzay, has charged young Nigerian acts to be original.

Zaaki, who described the Nigerian music industry as a war front advised artistes to learn to be original and stop copying.

In his words:

“I’m able to evolve like this because I’ve often said that Mercedes is Mercedes. Mercedes is Mercedes 40-years ago, it’s still the same today. It’s the same with music, you should improve on your brand, improve on your songs, you must not start sounding like another artiste because he is reigning. You can’t all be like Wizkid, Davido or P’Square because they are on top now, just improve your brand. It’s like a war front, you have to retreat and plan; you don’t just go out, everyday you set out, if you are a proper person, you will set out where you are going to, you have meetings, appointments, you have to strategize, things have changed.”

Following the shade video made by upcoming act BLU for fast rising act, Mr Eazi that was leaked online, the former’s label and management, Blu Record Label, Highpulse Entertainment, have released a statement, apologizing for the leak and what was said on the video.

The statement reads thus:

This morning, we received the news regarding our artiste, BLU who throws shade on Mr. Eazi. It’s quite unfortunate that the Video got uploaded on our official YouTube channel and published on social media without proper authorisations.

We have conducted investigations and found out what went wrong which we wouldn’t want to bother anybody with the details, rather we wish to apologize for what has happened, because it is our fault and we take full responsibility.

We regret the happening, BLU is a wonderful artist who is highly talented.

The story behind this is that, BLU made a Cover of Runtown’s Mad Over You just like Mr. Eazi did. It was a success and the download was good so he has always celebrated it just like any fast rising artist would, but we try as much as we can to curtail the feelings. A little out of our site and it happened.

Our apologies to Mr. Eazi, his management and his fans for what was said on the video, it’s unnecessary and ugly.

And to our own fans, we are sorry things like this got out to the media. We will make up for this, BLU will make up for this.

In his words:

‘Not featuring any other artiste on my album asides Kiss Daniel who I collaborated with on two tracks is part of the label’s (G-Worldwide) strategy.’

Kiss Daniel did same with his New Era album, which dropped in 2016. He featured only the ‘Dada Omo’ crooner on his album.

Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko has revealed he regrets being a polygamist.

The thespian who lost his wife Henrieta last year(2016) in a chat with Saturday Beats, said that he became a polygamist through powers that were beyond his control.

He said, “If I have to be frank, I regret being a polygamist. I must confess. I did not really plan it and it was designed beyond my power because I never planned to marry so many wives. I first married one wife but she was not part of the job I was doing and in those days, you needed a very trustworthy assistant. That pushed me to marrying the second wife. I stayed with them until I lost them both eleven months apart in the same scenario – childbirth.”
Kosoko said he wouldn’t have married again but, “A doctor of mine advised against it. He said I was still young and needed to take a wife. I looked at the situation critically and realised that a lot of my friends were coming to my apartment with their girlfriends and I saw myself as becoming irresponsible and my house was a free house. Some of those of my friends were married yet they still brought their girlfriends to my house. I felt if I had a wife, all that would not happen so I tried to get another wife. I was romancing two women with the mind of settling down with one. But eventually, the two entered. That was how I became a polygamist.”

When asked if he would consider giving marriage another shot, Kosoko said it would be madness if he does that.

“It would be madness if at this stage, at 63 years old, I would be thinking of having a new wife. I have over 12 children I am taking care of and I have some of them that are grown up and are taking care of me as well. My wife died and left me with two teenagers and I have to take care of them,” he said.

Rapper Olamide, has opened up on his rise to fame in a new interview
The YBNL boss, who spoke to Sunday Scoop, revealed that his fear of failure has kept him working harder than most.

The ‘Pepper Dem Gang’ crooner, opened up about his love life saying:

“I’ve actually been in a relationship for about 17 years now. As a matter of fact, she’s the most important reason I am where I am today. Her name is music.”

On what has been his driving force over the years, he said,

“My major motivation comes from knowing that I came from the bottom, and I don’t want to go back there. I want to live a good life, and because of that, my working life is a relentless grind. I don’t want to go broke, and I don’t want anybody to look down on me. I’m still on top of my game because I don’t see myself as everything. I take advice from my mum, manager, and label mates, and they always help. They’re responsible for some of my ideas. Some things that people see and think is all about Baddo is actually their brainwork.”

Speaking further, he said,

“I didn’t start out to be an average artiste, I wanted to stand out. Right now, I’m living my dreams. All I can say is that my life right now is a dream come true.”

Singer, Simi, recently snagged a major deal with telecoms giant, Etisalat and she has been over the moon about the new deal.

Speaking with Saturday Beat on the deal, the ‘Jamb Question’ crooner, said:

“I am very elated that such is happening to me right now. This will give me a bigger platform than I had before. The limelight is now bigger than it used to me. When you work hard and have good work ethics and you continue to improve yourself, the sky is the beginning of the limit. I am not surprised at my success, I am just grateful to God. My record label, X3M Music, is very important to my career. They allow me to have creative expression. They don’t dictate the kind of music I do. They support me and push me.”

Speaking on the new deal also, the Vice President Marketing, Etisalat Nigeria, Adebisi Idowu, had some nice things to say about Simi. According to him

“Simi is one of the best talents out of Nigeria in the last few years. Etisalat is all about empowering young people, helping them to be all they can be. Simi fits in very well and we are going to invest a lot, not just in her music but also in her future. We have robust plan for Simi. It’s not just about her. She is going to be the face of encouragement to other young people.”

There is a new teaser for Daniel Ademinokan's new movie titled "Between," which stars Stella Damasus and Travis Grenier.

Daniel Ademinokan has released a new teaser for his new movie titled "Between."

Shot in the state of Georgia, USA, the movie stars Stella Damasus, Travis Grenier, Lynne Jenson and Tatiana Zappardino.

An emotional thriller with the tagline "when loving the right one is so wrong" is written by Ademinokan.

The movie will mark Damasus' first movie in two years. The actress made her last cinema appearance in the 2015 Robert Peters movie "Affairs of the Heart."

"Between" is directed by Daniel Ademinokan

She made her first appearance in a Nollywood movie in 1992 when she starred in the classic "Abused."
Damasus is popular for Nollywood movies including "Submission," "Abandoned," "Engagement Night," "Rumours," "Games Women Play" among others.
Her upcoming movie "Between" was first announced in 2016 with a teaser by Ademinokan.
No official release date has been announced for the movie.

It's not exactly clear what Ronaldo was trying to look like as he threw on a sinister black cape and white mask but it was a striking choice.

The Portuguese also roped in some of his friends to wear their own capes and costumes, although anyone unable to recognise him under his disguise should probably have realised who was showing up thanks to the presence of his many bodyguards...
