A mobile, adventurous left-back, the Spaniard could function in both a three and four-man backline. Even before the Italian had arrived, Azpilicueta admitted he was a big fan of the Italy national team head coach.
CENTRE MIDFIELD | John Obi Mikel
The heart and soul of the Chelsea midfield, the unsung hero of Stamford Bridge. Mikel's defensive talents and ability to hold the middle will be key under Conte, as he shields the backline from opposition bursts forward.
CENTRE MIDFIELD | Miralem Pjanic
Could the Bosnian become Conte's Pirlo at Stamford Bridge? Cesc Fabregas could be ousted in this area of the pitch and the Roma star has the ability on the ball and vision to be a perfect replacement.
RIGHT WING | Willian
Arguably Chelsea's most impressive player during what has been a tough campaign for the Premier League holders. He can play either out on the flank or in a playmaking role and is likely to be vital to the Conte regime.
LEFT WING | Eden Hazard
Jose Mourinho's hero from 2014-15, Hazard has fallen painfully back down to earth during the current season, where he has been a shadow of his previous self. ATTACKING MIDFIELD | Paul Pogba
The Juventus man would be the jewel in the crown for Conte as he rebuilds the Chelsea team, but landing him will not be easy. Pogba is also coveted by the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, while Juve will do all they can to keep him.
CENTRE-FORWARD | Gonzalo Higuain
Napoli may not take the Scudetto this year, but the Argentine's incredible scoring form has re-established him amongst football's elite strikers. A lack of Champions League football, however, could discourage Higuain from joining Conte.
