22 NPFL-based and 20 Foreign-based players will
get their invitation for the March 25 and 29 fixtures and are expected
to resume camp March 6th.
Long term absentee, Aaron Samuel makes a return to the national team
since Nigeria's failure to qualify for the last Nations Cup.
New invitee included MLS based forward, Fanendo Adi who will be handed
his first international call up but Siasia snubbed 31-year-old new
Shanghai Shenhua import, Obafemi Martins.
This is the squad that will be playing against Egypt in the AFCON
qualifiers towards the end of this month
The first leg of the double header against the seventh-time African
champions will be played in Kaduna on March 25, before Super eagles
travelled to Cairo for the second leg on March 29.
Meanwhile, FIFA has released its monthly rankings for the men's
football team earlier today with Nigeria moving up the ladder to the
62nd position
as against 63rd in last month's ranking which makes it the 11th best
team in Africa at the moment.
Countries like Belgium, Argentina, Mexico, Iran and New Zealand
maintained their positions at the top of their respective
confederations, with Cape Verde Islands now in the first place
overtaking Côte d'Ivoire to become Africa's new leading team.
