The biggest shock of the weekend in the start of a new season was
recorded in Lafia as debutants MFM FC displaced hosts Nasarawa United.
The Solid Miners failed to take the lead early in the game and they
were punished when Musa Newman struck in the 18th minute.

Things got worse for Kabiru Dogo's team as Chukwuka Emmanuel scored
three minutes after the half hour mark to double the lead for the
Olukoya Boys'.
Meanwhile it was different stroke at Ibadan as Ajia Emmanuel scored
the only goal with an effort from distance as Lobi Stars stunned
Shooting Stars one-nil at the Lekan Salami Stadium in the week one of
the Nigeria Professional Football league.
